Summary/Abstract: Earth’s changing climate makes the once-inaccessible Arctic open to human expansion. As the arctic ice sheet decreases, its potential resources are becoming more and more interesting for the countries of the region. In recent decades, they have been increasingly competing with each other to ensure that they are as much as possible in the expected benefi ts. At the same time, they work together to counter the aspirations of others countries. The article focuses on Canada’s policy as one of the Arctic states. It presents the climatic changes taking place in the region and their impact on business activities and relations between arctic countries. Against this background, it indicates the main changes that have taken place in Canada’s policy towards the far north.
