Summary/Abstract: The cumulative effect of various processes of the internalisation of cultural violence is the one that ensures the continuity of national and international politics and the geostrategic situation that in the Balkans peace can always be seen as a ceasefire or a period between the two wars. Through the examples of three phenomena: (a) several centuries of long-standing stereotypes about the Balkans, which have become elements of the often used concept of „Balkanism / Balkanization”, (b) militarization of public space; and (c) the conceptualization of notions heroism and war in school curricula, the paper tries to explain their individual and permeation relationship as external and internal factors that affect the internalization of cultural and structural violence within the context of the Balkan region and contribute to the conservation of existing social relations.
