Summary/Abstract: The present text evokes memories from the life the author lived with his father, acad. Virgil Cândea. He highlights his father's generosity, care, erudition, pedagogy and the fact that he was always supporting him. Then he reveals some of his father's achievements and aspects of his activity that were less taken into consideration and known, such as the discovery of rare manuscripts.
