Summary/Abstract: This work interprets Gojko Djogo’s latest collection of poems entitled The Skein which represents the completion of his so-called “woolen trilogy” or a three-book series started by the collection The Woolen Times (1981), and continued by The Black Fleece(2002). In the poet’s own words, The Skein represents a certain attempt to deal with the woolen times that characterized his life and work. He created/wove a unique trilogy or a three-book series from this “woolen yarn”, thus leaving an authentic mark not only in his own literary work, but in the entire Serbian literature. Guided by the principles of necessity for a broad consideration of the fate of both the poet and the book, on the one hand, and the caution not to make literary values subject of socio-historical interpretation, on the other hand, we have tried to draw our conclusions to the values, meanings and messages of the book that are beyond and above the mentioned circumstances, although they created them in some way.
