Summary/Abstract: Pushkin’s interest in Russia’s fate appeared thanks to the emergence of the epoch of Russian universalism (the times of Alexander I). Pushkin opposed the profound pessimism of the author of Philosophical letter (Chadaaiev) because he perceived a constant motion towards progress and greatness in the history of Russia.
