Summary/Abstract: The novels The 'Naked Year' and 'Machines and Wolves' are based on the combination of the poetics of avantgardism, which is one of the manifestations of modernism, on the one hand, and the poetics o f the 20-th century realism, on the other. The author- -narrator is equal to other subjects of narration in his rights, which strengthens the p olyphonic grounds o f the plot. Thus, the author’s final position is realized mainly through the process o f aesthetic colouring o f empirical reality and creation o f integral unity o f the plot.
