Summary/Abstract: In the article phraseological units of the biblical origin in the Eastern Slavonic languages are examined from the point of view of the interpretation potential of the phraseological semantics. The relations of the religious and linguistic consciousness are observed in the article as well. The typological system of the phraseological units (their classes, groups and subgroups) is made according to the phrase formation and motivation of the phraseological meanings by the text of the Bible.
