TRENDS IN EUROPEAN CAP: NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR ROMANIA

Summary/Abstract: This paper detects the importance of the reforming process of European Common Agricultural Policy and tries to identify the opportunities for Romanian agriculture and rural development policy. The new CAP intends to improve the competitiveness of farming sector, the environment and rural landscape, the quality of life in rural areas and the ability of rural community to create new jobs and new opportunities for people. In order to consolidate its policy of rural development, Romania must take advantage of the European technical and financial support, mainly represented by European Agricultural Guarantee Fund and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
