Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article is detailed consideration of the musical language and the form of Alexander Glazunov's Concert for alto-saxophone with the orchestra (in Es dur), created in 1934 from the point of literature sources. Methodology includes a textual criticism method (the study of a score) and detailed musically-theoretical analysis (with the actualization of functional analysis and genre-stylish synthesis), allowed by the new foreshortening to see the first concerto opus in the history of the saxophone. A scientific novelty consists of the application of the adopted methods of research to the insufficiently known object that assists the complete opening of the artistic conception of composer and activation of individual interpretation. Conclusions. Glazunov's Concert for alt-saxophone is a precious decoration and inalienable constituent of the repertoire of modern saxophone player (both classical and jazz). The features studied in a concert expose the luxurious melodious talent of the author of work those (all of them grow from the first). Traced original genre-intonation sources, facilities of thematic development, methods of construction of divisions of one-part poem composition, absorbing the signs of sonata-allegro and three-private concerto cycle, are uniquely-original lines of the style of the known worldwide composer.
