Summary/Abstract: On September 16, 1970, in Meudon, France, Paul Evdokimov, one of the most famous names in Orthodox theology in the Russian diaspora, passed to eternal life. The Bolshevik revolution was one of the historical tragedies of the twentieth century, a century marked by blood, unsuspected cruelty and hard to imagine absurdities. One of the most important positive effects of the Russian tragedy (which unfortunately was not limited to Russia), was the emigration of intelligentsia that brought Orthodox theology in dialogue with the great Western, European culture. Among those who discover their vocation as connectors of the worlds that had been so long separated is Paul Evdokimov. Illegally translated into Romanian, it was published after 1989 and is also found in the wave that enriches Romanian culture and theology with the representative voices of recent Western literature. This text briefly presents the biography of Paul Evdokimov and the guidelines of his thinking.
