Summary/Abstract: The article continues and develops the study of the linguistic features of the Selected Fairy Tales by F. N. Svinyin, whichwere fi rst published in 2016, but have not been thoroughly studied so far. The paper analyzes the infl uence of the “book”tradition on the formation of the Pomor storyteller’s idiolect. For the fi rst time, the study is focused on the participialphrases actively used by Svinyin, but generally not typical for oral folk texts and therefore not addressed by linguo-folklorists.The article presents extensive linguistic material, including the cases of substantivization and adjectivization ofparticiples, as well as their inclusion into the phraseological expressions. It is proved that the unique individual style ofSvinyin, the bearer of the richest fairy tale telling tradition, was formed as a result of combining canonical folk materialand book sources in his tales. The research materials show that F. N. Svinyin’s tales can be viewed as an example of thetransition from a folk tale to a literary author’s tale, which manifests itself not only at the level of poetics, but also at thelinguistic (namely grammatical) level.
