Summary/Abstract: The study discusses an issue that forms part of the historical periodization of Central European Hungarian minorities. It attempts to map the development of elites who constructed and led Hungarian minority communities, as well as the strategies and socialisation frameworks they developed for these communities. This model focuses on periods defined by epochal divides, and the changes in relations that can be reconstructed from texts and activities of elites throughout various periods. The study presents generation groups and strategies by offering an overview of the eighty-year-long development of elites representing Hungarians living abroad.
