Summary/Abstract: Mines are an important source of income that has occupied an important place in the lives of societies for centuries. The mines and enterprises have an important place in the organization and introduction of the money regime of the state. Copper mines in Kastamonu’s Kure district have made the region important throughout history. The known name of Kure in history is “Kure-i Nuhas” and it means “Copper Mine” in old Turkish. In this argument, some evaluations were made about Kure copper mines- between 1800-1821-by utilising the documents from Ottoman archives. İn the introduction,after briefly mentioning the history of the Kure,the period between 1300-1500, which is teh most lively perid of the mines, is mentioned. In addition, how and by whom the mines in the Ottoman Empire are governed, who is responsable for the mines and which duties, the policy issues taht the Ottoman Empire has applied in the field of the mines are also mentioned. Beside these, some quite important subjects were determined about Kure-i Nühâs mine, the transportation of Kure copper mine and its delivery to Engraving and printing place, the usage of Kure copper in palace cuisine and Ottoman Army, the complains about mining asurance, employment, the conditions of mine workers and some knowledge about their villages. by utilising the documents from Ottoman Archives between 1800-1821.
