Summary/Abstract: The sonata on which we stopped(R 41 in E flat major, vol. III),belonging to P. Antonio Soler, the complex Spanish creator, is distinguishedamong his other sonatas by the more special way of articulating themusical form, the formal analysis of the sonata referring to thearchitectural coordinates on which it is articulated. This 41st sonata is thesame as the second movement of sonata no. 96 of volume VI. The editor (P.Samuel Rubio) mentions that in the successive re-editions of volume IIIthese "doubles" were replaced by other unpublished sonatas.Soler applies inthis sonata one of the principles that dominate the composition of allhomophone forms: squaring, the presence of multiples of four in thecomposition of phrases. Concluding for this piece is the periodicsymmetrical, square or non-square structure.
