Summary/Abstract: Research on the relations of the star system of American and European film on an example of Shakespeare’s drama is an insufficiently examined topic. Primarily, in this sense, the dominant phenomenon of creating of the star system and its influence on the development of the film industry. The reasons, methods and techniques for which the Americans used European cultural capital and established the “afi ” dominance over the “efi ” are intriguing questions that have not yet given concrete answers in the research efforts. Aspects of research that help explain the relationships of the star system should focus onscripting material, camera work in a directorial context and acting performance. One should not forget that in America prevails the opinion about the understanding the film primarily as the industry, which leads to a change in film financing in this country, and deviates from the mecenistic financing model that is still dominant in Europe. The study of the influence of European actors on film development in America, especially in Shakespeare’s dramas that are screened in the original or as an adaptation of the work, is something that rounds the curiosity of research effort.
