LOCAL ADMINISTRATIONS’ MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM, DECISION SUPPORT SYTEM AND MANISA CASE

Summary/Abstract: Local administrations by means of utilizing Urban Information Management Information Systems, can carry out a healthy decision-making process by means of monitoring the present situation, including an efficient provision of social services of keeping records of urban planning, infrastructure, property ownership, settlements, registry queries along with different payments of environmental and property taxes, declaration of court decisions, thereby contributing to public relations. Direct participation of urban residents to urban management and decisions related, yet, constitutes an important problem. Urban Councils have to be located on the Urban Information Management Systems as the former has been an optimal mean of remedies. As urban councils become objects of Urban Information Management Systems, they will bring along a number of innovations including e-municipal application, henceforth, offering as an important tool for decision making for municipal management. By such a scheme, organs of urban councils will contribute to institutional decision making via internet irrespective of time and space. Given the perspective, the study proposes to analyze the application of urban information systems to Manisa Urban Council by means of diagnosing the present situation at Manisa Municipality.
