Summary/Abstract: Tis handbook project is the result of a long-term cooperation between Polish, Czech, and German researchers in the feld of Slavic and Comparative Studies. During thelast 10 years, this team has published about a dozen books in various languages andorganized eight international workshops concerning the Holocaust in Central European literatures and cultures. Troughout these years, our team has noticed a gapbetween the literary production in countries where the Holocaust mainly took placeand their response in the non-Slavic world. For this reason, we are going to edita handbook with works originally published in Polish, Czech, or Slovak that are ofimportance not only within the context of their respective national literary traditions but also for research on Holocaust literature worldwide. Additionally, this project has been joined by Slovak researchers. Te handbook includes novels, short stories, poems and plays within the scope of 750 standard pages. Te table of contentscurrently lists 53 Polish, 41 Czech, and 22 Slovak texts. Te editors provide an introduction about the main developments of Holocaust literature in the broader contextof the countries of interest (main topics and motifs, periodisation based on politicalchanges, reception processes in national and transnational context).
