ABOUT COMPOUND WORDS OF THE TYPE 'МЕСТОРОЖДЕНИЕ', 'МЕСТОНАХОЖДЕНИЕ'

Summary/Abstract: Among compound words in contemporary Russian, one particular group is made up according to the formation of the type „месторождение” (deposite), „местонахождение” (location). The morphological structure of these words connects them with the words formed as a result of the union. In reality they are not compound words but concretions. As opposed to such compound words as, for example, „деторождение”, „рукоположение”, they are characterised by the preposition of the main part as regards the determining part, and also by the fact that the originate not in the result of the conscious creative process, like wordunions, but in the process o f speech. On the other hand, for this very reason words of the type „времяпровождение” (pastime) „кровопролитие” (bloodshed), although in the majority of works on word formation, they are considered to be concretions from asynchronic point of view, we ought to refer to their formation, originating in the result of the composition.
