Summary/Abstract: Corpus Dionysiacum (CD) is known mostly, in modern times, for the philosophicalterminology of Neoplatonic origin, for its borrowings from Proclus on the visionabout evil and, for the unique way in Christianity to present the spiritual andmaterial universe as an ontological downward spiral în triadic steps. Somescholars accuse its author of forgery to mask non-Christian teachings in aChristian shape. This skeptical reception of the mysterious writings eludes thescriptural and patristic sources used by the same author in an overwhelmingpercentage. Therefore, it is of interest for an objective perspective to take a look atthese issues, before pronouncing a verdict. This short study gets a glimpse of thebiblical heritage in CD, highlighting the anagogical understanding of thescriptural symbols, an argument for the Christian milieu of the addressees of thewritings and their author
