Summary/Abstract: In 1923, the publicist T.V. Pacatian published the work Jertfele românilor din Ardeal, Bănat, Sătmar și Maramurăș aduse în războiul mondial din anii 1914-1918 (The sacrifices of the Romanians of Transylvania, Bănat, Sătmar and Maramureș on the 1914-1918 World War) which encompassed some arguments and evidence that showed that also this time the Romanians who fought under the Austrian-Hungarian banner did their bit for the country where they lived in, to acquire political and national rights. Besides the proper statistics on the Romanians from the fronts of the First World War, T. V. Pacatian requested the local administrative authorities that dealt with gathering information to attach also a Report which to include, amongst other things, information on the number of inhabitants from the communes that participated in the National Assembly from Alba Iulia. About the unofficial participants in the historic act, the majority of respondents gave evasive answers or did not answer at all considering them insignificant. Consequently, official information must be complemented by recalls of those who participated in the National Assembly to support their official representatives. At the National Archives from Targu Mures is the record of an “investigation“, made in 1978, that includes new information on 39 unofficial participants from Mures County in the Union which we publish for the first time in this study.
