Summary/Abstract: In the collection of the "Gavrilă Simion" Eco-Museum Research Institute of Tulcea are kept a lot of old Romanian and foreign books, manuscripts and even journals marked with ex-libris of different forms, having various owners along time. Some books belonged to some old libraries, now vanished, dismembered or confiscated in the years of communism, which belonged to some personalities or passionate bibliophiles like the prince Mihai-Constantin Basarab Brâncoveanu (1875-1967), the diplomat Charles-Adolphe Cantacuzène (1874-1948), the bibliologist Constantin I. Karadja (1889-1950). Other volumes belonged to the members of some historic families or big libraries, institutions or cultural societies of the last centuries: D. A. Sturdza, D. C. Sturdza, the metropolitan Iosif Naniescu, Alexandru Papiu-Ilarian, the archimandrite Dosoftei Crihană, the Library of the "Saint Sava" College. The ex-libris can take on the form of a signature (manuscript ex-libris) or note of property, can take the form of a label, with text and image, or the ex-libris printed with a seal or a stamp. By this article, we draw attention to some copies of foreign and Romanian book, printed in the XVIth - XXth centuries, with an apart value because of their simple ex-libris signatures or the notes of property dating from the XVIIth - XXth centuries. Among the volumes, we mention: Caius Plinius Secundus, [Historia naturalis]. Historiae Mundi Libri XXXVII, Basileae, 1554, with manuscript ex-libris, on the title page, “Ex Bibliotheca Georgii Thurzo de Noszthez”; Madam de Gomez [Madeleine-Angélique de Gomez], La Belle Assemblée: being a curious Collection of some very remarkable incidents, which happen'd to persons of the first quality in France, the eighth edition, vol. 1, London, 1765, with handwritten signature Rafael Cristescu; Caroli Lebeau, Orationes et oratiunculae, Parisiis, 1783, with the manuscript “Ex Libris Pr. Ambrosie Babick”; François Alberti de Villeneuve, Dictionnaire françois-italien, tome I, the fourth edition, A Venise, 1798, with the manuscript ex-libris of a sculptor from Tulcea Vasile M. Chiriachide; Dimitrie Cantemir, Descrierea Moldovei (The description of Moldavia), Neamț, 1825, from the library of N. Calloianu. The copies arrived at the museum of Tulcea by acquisitions from second-hand bookshops and individual persons, and some of them by transfer from the Romanian Academy Library of Bucharest.
