Summary/Abstract: Early La Tène sword in decorated scabbard, kept in the Archaeological museum in Zagreb, was found in the late 19th and early 20th century in the village of Sotin in eastern Croatia. Through typological, technical, and iconographic analyses of the sword and scabbard decoration (pair of dragons / griffins), the paper discuss introduction of the La Tène culture to southeastern Pannonia and its position in the wider cultural and historical processes that took place in the second half of the 4th and the beginning of the 3rd century BC in central and southeastern Europe.
