Summary/Abstract: The media and law are in a causal connection from the very beginning of the media's activity. They work by complementing each other and the work of the media is not possible without legal regulation and protection. Media law is a branch of law that is a relatively young discipline and a legal field that consists of a set of rules that prescribe the work of the means of transmission of information regardless of the way of transmission (press, radio, television, film, book, poster, digital media, PR, etc.). The media law regulations apply to media content immediately after publication and broadcasting to the public. Such a system of interrelated elements of legal action should provide and assure freedom of speech, expression and defamation, freedom of access to information, necessary and legally prescribed censorship, protection of personal data (in particular, social network media and smart phones). On the other hand, media law should guarantee objective and impartial work to the media.
