Summary/Abstract: György Vári’s writing speaks about the first famous work of Péter Nádas, The End of a Family-novel. The topic of the novel is the history of a Jewish family generation by generation up to the last member, who is the narrator of the novel. The author of the article tried to investigate the realation of the novel in question to the genre of family novel and to the Jewish tradition with the help of Franz Rosenzweig, the well-known German philosopher of Jewish origin.
