Summary/Abstract: General aviator Alexandru Sahini was a complex personality, unjustly not promoted in the history of Romanian Aviation, but an iconic figure in the history of air force. He took part, at the beginning of his prestigious military career, as an artilleryman, in World War I, was a fighter aviator, commander of Flotilla 1 Bombardment in the campaign to liberate Basarabia and conquer Odessa Later, he filled important leadership positions in the higher structures of the Romanian Military Aeronautics, in World War II. Aviator General Sahini Alexandru imposed himself as one of the most important doctrine writers, in the inter-war period and during the Second World War, of the fifth branch, in order of appearance, by scientifically, originally and innovatively defining the role, place, missions, procedures of use in combat, and by leading this field in full process of development in the Romanian Armed Forces.
