Summary/Abstract: The dimensions of the International Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities and the range of issues brought into discussion, as well as its monitoring, implementation strategy and related operational plans, developed at international, regional and national level, represent a challenge for the human rights specialists, all the more so, since the acceptance of discrimination on grounds of disability is deeply rooted in many societies.
