It makes up an integral part of the dissertation project under the title “Variation of the segmental characteristic quantity at higher levels of phonetic manifestation on the basics of selected text types in German, Italian and Polish”. The article presents some considerations and comments on the topic of segmental quantity as well as observed regularities and tendencies.
