Prosodic Features as Indicators of Marking Emotional Tone in Sports Commentary. A Case Study

Summary/Abstract: This study aimed at describing the prosodic features as indicators of marking emotional tone in sports commentary (based on a case study). Selected acoustic parameters of emotional speech were examined (fundamental frequency (F0), intensity and duration of speech segments), as well as their audible correlates (pitch, loudness, and length), and other prosodic phenomena (speaking speed, focal accents, pauses).
