Summary/Abstract: The text ”Joseph and Aseneth”, written in late antiquity by an unknown author, has been translated in many European languages due to the fact that it has been perceived as Christian. The young Egyptian’s exemplary conversion to monotheism comprises a dense network of symbols that today allow plural interpretations.
