Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on procedural compulsion taken against foreigners. Basically it is directed to measures of procedural compulsion concerning the accused. The following issues are given prominence: - the nature of procedural compulsion; - measures of procedural compulsion concerning the defendant regulated by the Penal Procedure Code of the Republic of Bulgaria; - measures of procedural compulsion concerning the defendant with regard to international cooperation in criminal matters, treated by: the European Convention on the Transfer of Proceedings in Criminal Maters, the European Convention on Extradition, the Law of Extradition and the European Arrest Warrant as well as bilateral agreements on extradition to which the Republic of Bulgaria is a party.
