Academician Florin Constantiniu’s Contribution to Romanian Historiography

Summary/Abstract: Florin Constantiniu remains one of the most impor tant Romanian historians of the twentieth century. His death was a great loss to Romanian culture as all. His heritage consists of an impressive amount of books, study collections and articles on Romanian History from Middle Ages through Modern Ages and up to Contemporary Ages, published both in Romania and abroad. His vast contribution to history, especially the Romanian Contemporary History recommends him as a model of the his torian and intellectual elite. His papers are written with scientific accuracy, verticality and rigour. However, his involvement in conferences, symposiums, debates, activities who participated, as well as his career as a professor beyond the researcher persuaded me, as a historian, to write about his personality and Florin Constantiniu`s contribution to Romanian historiography. My paper, entitles „Academician Florin Constantiniu`s Contribution to Romanian Historiography” will focus on pre senting information about his professional career and evolution, emphasising the importance of the most remarkable studies of its career and appreciations of those who closely knew him.
