Summary/Abstract: From the beginning of the Church, the pastors of the soul, through the threefold mission received, that of sanctifying, teaching and leading to salvation the flock entrusted to them by ordination, identified with the aspirations, needs and sufferings of the faithful, finding is in the midst of all the significant events in their lives; they shared with them the hardships of life, the joys and sorrows, for centuries in turn differing from them in nothing but their exemplary life. Among those who served the Church of Christ, performing church ordinances, preaching the word of the Gospel, learning from the modest chairs of the schools of the time and, especially, becoming bearers of the relay of the struggle for freedom, unity and national dignity, were the priests from Dobra (Hunedoara County), an ancient archdiocesan seat, a fair and a former Romanian district headquarters, a national-political center with a rich historical past, located on the „border” of Transylvania with Banat.
