Summary/Abstract: The article is focused on the analyze of the specifics of inter-genre interactions in the “Elegiac Poem” to the verses of Valeriu Matei from the vocal-symphonic cycle for baritone and symphony orchestra “Après Une Lecture”by Ghenadie Ciobanu. The researcher relies on the original definition of a work’s genre by the composer himself, as well as on his annotation, which emphasize the synthesis of academic genres, supplemented by the folklore doina in the form of a quotation. Cross-genre analysis of the “Elegiac Poem” based on genre features made it possible to identify the fundamental principles of its poetics.
