Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the analysis of cycles of lieds written by Cornel Țăranu and Dan Voiculescu, two remarkable representatives of the Romanian composition school, on the lyrics of Nichita Stănescu. The author focuses on the compositional aspects, the musical-stylistic language and other aspects related to the conceptualization and transposition into music of Stanescu's poetry. The cycles „Songs without Love”, „Songs without Answer” and „Interrupted Songs” by C. Țăranu and the cycle from „Three Lieds” by D. Voiculescu are analyzed. The conclusions refer to the originality and versatility of the compositional approaches that capture the contents of philosophical, deeply lyrical essence of Stanescu’s verb.
