Summary/Abstract: The article contains information about the remarkable Moldovan singer M. Cebotari, who made a brilliant European career in the first half of the 20th century. Almost all the years of Primadona’s artistic life fell on the time of the estalishment, development and collapse of the fascist dictatorship as a result of World War II. Despite the fact that the singer, due to her great popularity, enjoyed special respect of the Nazi authorities, she did not engage in politics, protecting herself by intensive creative work. As one of the female symbols of the stage and screen of the Third Reich, the singer endured many hardships: the dictatorship negatively affected the scope of her career advancement.
