Summary/Abstract: The article considers the genesis of the phenomenon of “philological novel” in Russian literature and the current state of the issue. The vectors of the development of the philological novel in Russian prose of the 21st century are identified. The interpretation of the novels “Roman s yazykom” and “Brisbane” in the context of the diffusion of literary theory into a literary text is given.
