Summary/Abstract: Assumptions on art subject studies in the process of professional development are discussed in the paper. Singleness of art subject studies in higher non-university degree institutions is discussed and some aspects of the following process are revealed. The research shows that singleness of a profession and educational factors in a college change students’ attitudes towards art subjects. The system of spiritual values has influence on the education of artistic culture in a person. Practical training is based on the students’ need for self-realization therefore self-expression and education are inseparable. Music learning is a part of the art of music so it should be looked upon as the process of artistic development. In the process of education much attention should be paid to the development of creativity in a person, bridging a gap between teaching/learning and development. People of this profession have to spend extra time for practical training. Art subject studies are based on the activities in a particular field of art. Skills in music interpretation and music performing techniques are trained; perception and awareness of music are developed therefore it is important to satisfy the students’ interests and needs.
