She is the first woman chancellor of Germany. She held this position for four terms. It has survived many political crises. It radically changed German policy. She perfectly beat the financial crisis of 2008. She created a mechanism of exercising power that ensured her electoral success for many years and international prestige. This article is an attempt at a synthetic description of this political science phenomenon.
