Summary/Abstract: This article seeks to show, in the light of the theoretical tools of Philippe Lejeuneand Damien Zanone on the autobiography, that although written in the third person and that not fullyrespecting the main discriminating features of the autobiography, these three novels (Boyhood, Youthand Summertime) that make up Coetzee's 'autobiographical space' represent a particular form of'self-writing' and 'life stories' that fit well with the characteristics of both autobiography and theautobiographical novel.
