Summary/Abstract: As we consider the trial of Jesus Christ, we must realize that in addition to the historical-scientific issues, we are primarily dealing with the theological dimension of the Savior’s passion and death. The Evangelists see in the salvation events of Jerusalem and Golgotha concrete symbolism foreseen in the Old Testament, seeing in Jesus of Nazareth a living sacrifice, whose death and resurrection brought salvation to people. The aim of this article is to bring closer the rich theological symbolism, whose knowledge and understanding helps to see in Jesus Christ the sacrifice offered to God. The theological symbolism sees Jesus as the sacrificial Lamb or burnt sacrifice, and finally sees a king in him. The article also provides information on the role of women in the Paschal events with a special focus on Mary, Mother of our Lord. The text aims to recall the most important mystery of the Christian faith, because it is thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus that every person has regained the dignity of a child of God and salvation redeemed by the blood of the Son of God.
