Summary/Abstract: Endre Csíki (1888, Kolozsvár, today: Cluj-Napoca – 1949, Cluj-Napoca) is an overlooked figure in the pantheon of the Hungarian-Armenian composers. Piano teacher, author of symphonic and chamber works, piano pieces and lieds on verses by contemporary poets, Endre Csíki was also active in publishing in the field of musical aesthetics. Conductor of the local orchestra, he played a major part in developing the musical culture of the town Dej between the two World Wars. His most successful years were spent as residing composer and conductor of the Hungarian Theatre in Cluj, between 1936–1939. Endre Csíki’s manuscripts were almost completely lost, thus his list of works and their proper analyse remains only hypothetical.
