Summary/Abstract: The fundamental right to work and the social protection of labor as regulated by the Constitution provides everyone's right to choose one’s profession, trade or occupation, the place of work, freedom to exercise or not a particular work, prohibition of forced labor, the right to social protection and equitable remuneration, the right to collective bargaining and the mandatory conclusion of agreements and employment contracts. Both international, as well as domestic regulations on the fundamental right to work refer to the means and mechanisms for the implementation of this right, of social protection with all that entails, prevention and elimination of discrimination, of non-compliance with equal opportunities and the wage gap between men and women.
