ANALYSIS OF SMART POWER COMPONENTS AND THEIR RELATION WITH THE NATIONAL SECURITY STRATEGY (Romanian)

Summary/Abstract: Power is nothing more than the ability to persuade others to get what you want, and that requires a set of tools. Some of these are instruments of coercion or hard power, and others are instruments of attraction or soft power and there is the combining of those two. Smart power values the importance of acting intelligently, determining action in function of specific needs: national and international context; cultural characteristics, current political system; economic influences. In this article we will analyze some of the basic concepts and approaches of the smart power components of a national security strategy, through the DIME model of analysis in the perspective of the instruments of national power. The research methods used are the scientific analysis and description of the instruments of national power found in a national security strategy and scientific analysis of their belonging to hard or soft power.
