Summary/Abstract: With a great number of international training courses (in France, Belgium, Hungary, UK or Italy), over 300 publications, a myriad of awards including three titles of Doctor Honoris Causa and occupying several management positions in various academic institutions, professor Constantin Toma can easily be regarded as a prominent figure of the Romanian biology. In 2012 due his outstanding academic achievements he was accepted as a member of the Romanian Academy.
