Summary/Abstract: We are witnessing, in real time, a paradigm shift on many levels. The rampant spread of the new coronavirus has led to a global health crisis, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives. As in a domino effect, the world economy is in decline, which is transposed locally in each state and in the civil circuit. Thus, the question can be raised to what extent the current epidemiological context followed by the declaration of the pandemic is likely to determine the circumstances that fall for the invocation of causes of suspension, mitigation or exoneration of contractual liability.
