Summary/Abstract: Smart devices have become the perfect accessories of the knowledge-based society. Military organizations, like civilians, try to benefit from the usefulness of social media applications that surround us today, but the main feature of these tools, to share data and user-generated media content, is a challenge to managing the information resource in the military field. The paper analyzes the effects generated by the use of the Strava Maps application inside the military bases and the security breach generated by the online posting of StravaMaps.
