Summary/Abstract: With its general definition of landscape architecture is; the arrangement of open spaces with different scales and features according to user requests and needs. Landscape architects design the exterior of the building, which is an organic part, depending on the differentiating functions of the buildings. One of the main objectives of the design is to create a whole by combining different parts, thus creating a strong organization. While creating this organization, it is essential to establish an original design product by establishing the right relationships. In this relationship, however, the design meets the user needs in both useful aspects, namely the pragmatic dimension; it can also be built with aesthetic quality, that is, with a syntactic dimension. Only in this way can it create successful places with high usage levels by making holistic designs. In this context, this study evaluated the student projects on Arakale restaurant and its close surroundings, which are carried out within the scope of 4th Semester in KTU Landscape Architecture Department, in terms of usefulness and syntax in line with the pragmatic and syntactic dimension approach.
