Summary/Abstract: During the communism era, at a time when abstract art and avant-garde trends were not accepted, the designer jewelry or better said the artistic jewelry was stripped down, de-symbolized and turned into a simple ornament that had meaning for the simple people. In the newly found democracy and freedom of expression of post communist Romania the designer jewelry creations are the result of a game, a protest or meditation.
