Summary/Abstract: Cloud security has gained increasingly emphasis in the research community, with much focus primary concentrated on how to secure the operation system and virtual machine on which cloud system runs on. Companies considering moving to a cloud based infrastructure need to understand various aspects of specific encryption and key management – regulation guidelines, the impact of key status on application performance and the differences between the software and hardware key management implementations.
