THE EUROPEAN SECURITY STRATEGY, A CRITICAL ANALYSIS

Summary/Abstract: This paper is focused on the European Security Strategy and its content. The main idea is to try to have an overlook from the pragmatic point of view on whether the strategy is still a viable one, due to the fact that it was adopted twelve years ago. By pointing out the historical background, the context and its previsions, the role of NATO and US in the security of Europe, and also the new regional threats, the paper is underlining the necessity of a new European Security Strategy.
